FROM VALUES TO ACTION

Social Justice & Decolonisation for Organisational Transformation

by Siddharth Kankaria and Vanessa Mignan Jenkins

How can organisations meaningfully engage with social justice and decolonisation beyond token statements or isolated interventions?

How can they align their values with action and translate reflection into structural and cultural change?

Our From Values to Action initiative supports research, education, and cultural organisations in rethinking systems, power, and practice through two interconnected offerings:

  • A two-hour introductory workshop (Sept–Feb 2025): A practical, interactive session that introduces key ideas and helps organisations start building their action plan for systemic change.

  • A five-week cohort programme (Mar–Apr 2026): A deep-dive, mentored journey for selected organisations ready to implement change at a structural level.

Together, these programmes build the skills, mindsets, and frameworks needed to make equity and justice part of everyday organisational practice.

Introductory Two-Hour Workshop

A Taster Workshop on Social Justice & Decolonisation

This two-hour interactive workshop introduces participants to the principles of social justice, decolonisation, and reflexivity in public engagement and organisations. It’s designed for leadership teams, DEI practitioners, programme leads, and change-makers who want to move from good intentions to meaningful and sustainable action.

You’ll explore:

  • Key concepts in social justice and decolonisation,

  • Organisational self-reflection and case-study exercises,

  • Building the first steps of your systemic change action plan.

This workshop is a stand-alone workshop but also an introduction to our five-week cohort programme (Mar–Apr 2026), which will work intensively with five organisations to design and implement an action plan for organisational change.

Five-Week Cohort Programme

A Cohort Programme on Building Systemic Change & Organisational Transformation

Our five-week cohort programme (3 hours / week) brings together a small group of selected organisations to explore and apply concepts of justice and decolonisation through pedagogical lectures, workshops, and one-to-one mentoring.

Themes include:

  • Social justice frameworks and decolonial theories

  • Global South epistemologies and intersectional models

  • Degrowth, ethics, and allyship in engagement

  • Reflexivity and organisational design for equity

  • Translating values into systems, structures, and policy

By the end of the programme, each organisation will develop a tailored roadmap for structural transformation — a living plan for embedding justice and plurality into their mission, culture, and operations.

The five-week cohort programme includes a pre-engagement DEIA diagnostic and a follow-up six months after the end of the programme.
